This project is a book inspired by Jennae Cecilia’s poem of the same name. I invited twenty-one people to respond to the question: “If you were to meet your younger self for coffee, what would you talk about? How would you look different from them?” Contributors were free to express themselves however they chose, with no restrictions on length.
The project explores the contrast between who we were and who we’ve become. To physically represent this idea, I laser-cut the final line of each entry into the page before it appears, allowing the viewer to start with the ending, reading in reverse. This choice creates a mirrored, almost confessional effect, reinforcing the theme of reflection and opposition.
